Please join Scott Shay (KSM '80) and Alesia Haas for a wide ranging discussion on cryptocurrencies, blockchain, and the future of decentrilized finance.
Scott Shay is Executive Chairman of the Board of Signature Bank. Signature banks the top five crypto exchanges and offers institutiional banking services through them. In January 2021, the bank reported that deposits from customers in the crypto industry now total $10 billion – twice that of California rival Silvergate Bank. The bank’s blockchain-based payments platform Signet is the main driver of deposit growth in digital asset banking. Scott has also served as a Director of Signature Securities Group since its inception and as Chairman of the Board of Directors since December 2006. Since 1980, Mr. Shay has been involved in the investment banking and venture capital industries. Mr. Shay has been Managing Director/Partner of Ranieri Strategies LLC and its predecessors (“Ranieri”) and a partner of Hyperion Partners since 1988.
Alesia J. Haas occupies the position of Chief Financial Officer of Coinbase Global, Inc. Ms. Haas is also on the board of ANGI Homeservices, Inc. She previously held the position of Chief Financial Officer for Sculptor Capital Management, Inc., Chief Financial Officer at Coinbase, Inc. and Chief Financial Officer for CIT Bank NA. Alesia J. Haas received an undergraduate degree from California Polytechnic State University (San Luis Obispo).
